Pilar de la Horadada
Situated in the southernmost point of the province of Alicante and bordering the region of Murcia. It is a pleasant town, not far from the busy Orihuela Costa. Until 1986 this place belonged to this municipality. In the meantime, Pilar de la Horadada has grown into a municipality with more than 20,000 inhabitants. The three-kilometre-long walking path 'Del Pilar al Mar' runs right through Pilar de la Horadada. The centre of Pilar is connected to the beaches of Las Higuercias and Las Villa. An architectural highlight above this walking route is Puente del Beso (Bridge of the Kiss). The bridge was built in 2013 and awarded for its design.
